TOWN BOARDS
The Town Board manages the day to day operations of the Town
Goverment and is accountable for the health, safety and welfare of all of Wayne's citizens.
The Town Board adopts zoning and land use regulations. The
members of the Town Board are responsible for adopting and amending the Town's comprehensive or master plan,
The Town Supervisor is the Chief Fiscal Officer of the Town and
shares financial oversight responsibilities with the Town Board. The Town Board adopts a budget each year which includes funding for a variety of Town services. The Town Board is responsible for auditing all fiscal operations of the Town.

2nd Tuesday of each month

The Planning Board prepares and updates the comprehensive plan for the community and submits said plan and updates to the governing board for adoption. The comprehensive plan is not a law, but a guide or plan for the town’s future development and by state law, the towns land use regulation must be in accordance with the comprehensive plan.
In addition, the Planning Board prepares and updates zoning and subdivision regulations as well as land use regulations for submission to the governing board for adoption. This board serves as an advisory board to the Town Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals. Hearings regarding special use permits are also under the purview of the Planning Board.

The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) serves as a Quasi-Judicial body, whose basic function is to hear appeals and grant relief from the strict application of the zoning regulations. In most instances the ZBA acts in response to formal written decisions of the local code enforcement officer.
